HOME STAGING is not decorating, fluffing, interior design or redesign. Instead it is:

  • Detailing: many times you just need a critic eye to refine a room, such as taking out some accessories; moving furniture away;  improving lightning; retouching some walls; adding a wall art or bringing some green to the inside.
  • De-cluttering: anything smaller than a bowling ball is a distraction. Like Barb Schwarz, the creator of Home Staging, says: "Clutter eats equity!"
  • Depersonalizing: you might think that your owl collection or your family photos are great (and they are... to you!) but generally they interfere with the ability that buyers need to have to see themselves moving into your house.
  • Repurposing: it's okay if you decide to transform your formal living room into a play area, but when selling your home, that room must go back to its original purpose.
